One of the most common causes of damage to an electric underfloor heating system occurs when screwing furniture and equipment to the floor. This is particularly common in bathrooms where the plumber has to fix the WC pan to the floor. As with any floor covering care should be taken to ensure that thermal blocking does not occur. Please refer to the Thermal Blocking page on this web site for more information.
We strongly recommend that the locations of the furniture or equipment such as the WC pan, door stops etc., is marked out onto the floor before the underfloor heating element is laid out. They should be omitted from such areas and an adequate clearance should be provided around them.
Remember to tell the plumber and other tradesmen about your electric underfloor heating so that they can avoid doing any damage.
